The Elven Great Houses
All Elves take great pride in their lineage and put strong emphasis on joining the honor of their ancestors. Organized into five ancient and great houses, the enclaves of each city are ruled from within by them in various courts of influence. Lesser known and smaller houses, known as Vassal Houses, ally themselves with one of these great houses for recognition and protection, however allegiances can be traded as a commodity and even nullified under the right political climate.
Pick one of the Great houses below and record it under Background 2 on your character sheet.
House E'dira - The House of Banners
The noble House of Edira, stoic and proud, calls from a long line of skilled warriors and generals. Much of the house and it’s vassal houses are of the Warrior Caste and train to defend elvenkind from enemies, both domestic and abroad.
Class Bonus: Muscle and Infantry class abilities cost one less.
House S'thallas - The House of Vigilance
The pragmatic house of protectors, The line of S’thallas and its vassals heavily favor isolationism and pre-emptive strikes against threats. Among the dishonored houses, S’thallas is the most suspicious of non-elves and sends many scouts to spy on and discredit them.
Class Bonus: Survivalist and Outrider class abilities cost one less.
House Bara'ul - The House of Truth
Seekers of truth and wisdom, the House Bara’ul is a scholarly house of historians, researchers and academics. Though they tend to prefer little company, they can be found outside of walled districts and palatial elven estates searching for lost secrets of the old world.
Class Bonus: Scholar and Engineer class abilities cost one less.
House Sul'Fiir - The House of Whispers
Secrets and daggers grant the House of Whispers its political clout amongst the Dishonored Houses. Politics is treated as deadly as any other form of combat and secrets as the weapons. Elves of this lineage are trained in stealth and espionage.
Class Bonus: Rogue and Grifter class abilities cost one less.
House Dae'Ryas - The House of Japes
The clever and seemingly mad House of Japes is a decadent and uninhibited detractor from the usual poise and propriety of Elven courts and intrigue. A small house with no vassals lines, it is also the most adventurous and outgoing of all the houses, earning much honor in simply being first to dare. It’s recklessness has earned it the dishonor of also being the 'House of Fools’ to those that cling to tradition.
Class Bonus: Warlock and Expert class abilities cost one less.
